Look at those details: figures, patterns, coats of arms covered in a mysterious turquise patina.
Those details are amazing and hard to believe that they belong to actual canons! Canons that guarded the impregnable Königstein Fortress in Saxony. It was erected on a table mountain and watches over an elegant curve of the river elbe below. Each of the canons seems to have an individual design.
The map below shows the position of the fortress within the elbe valley. It is a huge and impressive sight and contains many historical exhibition in its various buildings.
